Building Your Own Genealogy
April Havens and Reverend Dante Eubanks
Experienced panelists from St. Mary's, Calvert, and Charles Counties will talk about their strategies for conducting genealogy research, both generally and locally. The second half of the session will be a workshop, where the panelists and moderator will be on hand to help people both get started with genealogy, as well as tackle some of those "dead ends" for those who have already started serious genealogy research.
Rev. Dante' Eubanks serves as the Pastor of New Covenant Christian Worship Center and is an avid Family Historian and Researcher of all things genealogy and history related. His research focus is in the areas of migration patterns, cluster genealogy, and history. He is a member of the St. Mary's County Historical Society, St. Mary's County Genealogical Society, and Descendants of Jesuit Enslavement. Rev. April Havens has been doing genealogy since 1982 and considers herself “by no means and expert”! She recently retired from her second job as the site manager for the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum and Historic Park. Previously she was Park Ranger for the MD Dept. of Natural Resources. She loves traveling to research her ancestors, going to the beach, gardening and is a devout “Parrothead”.
